Doctoral Student Colloquium

Are you a doctoral student who has recently completed your research proposal or are far advanced in your PhD journey? Join the Doctoral Student Colloquium at the International Business Conference (IBC), taking place at the White Sands Hotel and Resort in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Theme: “Developing High-Impact Research from Doctoral Students”

Date: 23 September 2025, 08:00 – 13:00

Participants will engage in sessions focusing on topics such as identifying and closing a research gap, choosing the right research design, and contributing significantly to knowledge. These sessions aim to guide doctoral students in creating research that addresses real-world issues and adds value to the scholarly community.

Applicants must submit the following:

1. A description that includes:

  • University, school or department
  • Year in program
  • Educational qualifications
  • Research and teaching interests
  • Publications (if any)

2. A nomination letter signed by your supervisor.

3. A 5-page concept note covering:

• • Topic
  • Research gap
  • Theoretical framework
  • Research design and method
  • Progress on dissertation
  • Expected submission date
  • (References not included in the word count.)

Fees:

• • R 4 750.00

Participants may present only in the doctoral track but can attend other tracks.
